Having a large mafia is the key to doing well at Mafia Wars. You can only bring 500 of your mafia with you into a fight but Mafia Wars will select the top 500 of your mafia members to bring in. This means that having over 500 members in you mafia has advantages beyond just having a full compliment of fighters with you when you go into a fight. Another benefit of a large mafia is that there are more people to help you out when you request it and the more people that help you the larger your bonus will be. Also, if you are promoted to someone's top mafia spots you will get occasional bonuses when doing jobs.

I consider myself to be relatively well educated in the latest generation of social networking site games like Mafia Wars, Vampire Wars, and such. That's why when I started to see these FarmVille guides popping up all over the place I was kind of surprised. I mean, I can see why people might need some tips to get going in games like Mafia Wars, but FarmVille?

I have played World of Warcraft since December of 2004, shortly after the game was released. It took me to about October of 2005 to get my first character to level 60. That sounds like a long time. However, I am a rather casual WoW player. At the time, I had a plugin that would announce my play time into guild chat when I leveled. I am not sure what the exact number was but I think it took me somewhere around 30 days of play time to achieve that level.
